Swami joined the Ramakrishna Mutt in 1968 and was posted to Rameswaram in 1980. He runs a private center known as Vivekananda Kudil (meaning Vivekananda Cottage) where he has given refuge for children of the local fishermen community who lost their parents and also run a women's rehabilitation center. The holy life of Swami has truly inspired the young children that they engage themselves in daily worship of Thakur, Maa and Swamiji. Singing the holy names is an every day ritual that Swamiji has taught these kids. They attend the local public school. It is a sight to see how the children are so well mannered and how the love of Swamiji has revived these children's lives. Swami's exemplary life reminds us of Swami Vivekananda's saying "Those who live for others really live and those who live only for themselves are more dead than alive."
